Resuscitation - CORE skills course

Level 5 update

This course is designed for health professionals who require the New Zealand Resuscitation Council’s (NZRC) CORE advanced. These are people who may need to manage and supervise resuscitation scenarios where little immediate back up is available from more qualified clinicians. This group could include experienced nurses and midwives, experienced anaesthetic technicians, and general practitioners in metro areas.

This course can help your workplace meet health and safety standards. It includes requirements for dentists, nurses and vaccinators to meet their vocational requirements.

Course content

  • Basic life support for adult, child and infant collapse
  • Advanced airway support
  • AED and manual defibrillation
  • Basic trauma management
  • ECG recognition of shockable and non shockable rhythms
