Your home for GP24

Situated in the heart of Wellington CBD's cultural precinct, Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre is a new home for inspiring exhibitions and informative conferences. The Centre sits across two levels and is purpose-built for international and local conferences, with capacity for up to 1,600 delegates.

Tākina’s unique sculptural form draws inspiration from a wide range of sources including the venue’s maritime location, Māori mythology, and Wellington’s dramatic and sometimes wild weather patterns and landforms.

Environmental sustainability and resilience are at the heart of the design and construction of Tākina. The building is five-star Green Star design certified – the first conference centre in New Zealand to achieve this standard. As a leading example of sustainable convention centres in New Zealand, the building includes sustainable features and adaptable systems to emit 60-70% less carbon and use 60-70% less energy than similar buildings.
