A/Prof Karen Flegg is the President of the World Organisation of Family Doctors (WONCA).

Karen was CEO of the RNZCGP (1997-2001) for the 25th anniversary. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the Rural Clinical School, at the Australian National University (ANU). Most of her clinical practice in recent years has been in very remote aboriginal communities.

As WONCA President, Karen aims to achieve “Governance, Greening and Growth”. She believes the time is right for WONCA to lead on the Environment. She is an Executive Committee member of The Lancet Commission on Sustainable Health Care.
